The maiden issue of Savian Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Development (SJMDRD) presents various studies of various disciplines. These five studies offer a rich and insightful look into the current landscape of Philippine education, each shedding light on the unique challenges and opportunities faced by learners and educators. The first study of Laboc & Cadiz focused on promoting gender sensitivity in science classrooms, showing how thoughtfully designed lesson exemplars can foster inclusivity and equity. Another study of Dimaculangan & Buenafe explored the entrepreneurial aspirations of business students, revealing how personal drive and family support fuel their ambitions, and pointing to the value of hands-on learning experiences. A third study authored by Jacolbia gave voice to school principals, capturing their real-life struggles with academic, health, and empowerment issues, and highlighting the importance of leadership grounded in experience and empathy. Meanwhile, research on reading instruction in elementary schools written by Macatangay & Cornelia emphasized how effective teaching strategies directly impact students’ reading skills, while also identifying areas for growth like differentiated instruction and technology use. Lastly, a study on chemistry learning among teacher education students authored by Gonzales, Alvarez, & Petere uncovered key barriers that affect performance, leading to a proposed improvement plan aimed at enhancing instructional quality and support. Together, these studies call for thoughtful curriculum development, stronger professional support, and institutional reforms that truly respond to the needs of both learners and educators to suit in the demands of evolving education landscape in the 21st Century.
